Chilled & Chided

Ah, I'm reminded that I haven't published in awhile. True.

Briefly, it got cold this week. The furnace is set: 68 in am and pre-bedtime evenings, 63 other times day and night. Day-by-day, life unfolds, revealing simple joys, appreciations, reminders to stop and rest--

Lot's of work at work past two weeks. Evenings busy too:

  • Yoga-class Mondays.
  • Catching-up-at-home Tuesdays.
  • Doggie-Do-Right clicker training classes with Lily Wednesdays
  • International Folk Dancing or Spiritual Support Group Thursdays
  • Marguerita-with-friends Fridays.

Got sick Thursday and well again today. Hooray! Missed this week's Margie-with-friends at Los Bravos.

This weekend, I'm gearing up for my Thanksgiving trip to see my family. All my children will be there. My grandbaby, Hattie McToddle, will be there with her parents, but Oh-So-Awewome, Hattie's sidekick woofy, will have to stay home. Lily will be there, God help us. (Have you read Life With Marley: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog?) My parents will show me their new, senior-special, abode where we will be with them. One brother and sister-in-law will be there. I'M NOT READY TO GO YET!!! Gotta go....LAUNDRY, DELIVER WORK TASKS TO OFFICE, BUY DOG FOOD and treats, PAY BILLS, STOP MAIL....breathe

Today

Today ....I repeatedly check my daughter's family blog, hoping to see new posts, possibly with new pictures of my first grandchild. It's been awhile since I've posted myself. That realization led to thoughts about whether to figure out how to edit my layout, since I mistakenly entered the Blog Title without the second intended word. I proceeded to quickly figure out how to edit and worked on the composition. In trying to add a photo, I didn't save what I wrote and it disappeared. So, I'll return to that another day.

I took the photograph, right of my mother holding her newborn first grandbaby, my daughter. You may go to McTodd's blog to see a picture of that daughter's baby on the shoulder of her maternal grandmother, me.

  • Themes for today:
  • Work like Lily (Rest): Progress made

  • Bi-weekly household finance oversight and tasks: progress made
    Laundry: progress made

  • Clean up sticks in yard left by 50 mph winds while I visited my first grandbaby a week or so ago: done

  • Water plants: done

  • Knitting: Ruana from Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle. This may be low priority, but: having trouble laying this project down!

Walk Lily/Practice "pack leader" behavior: wait until dark

Brazen Bunny

Can you find the bunny?

Way more to do today than is getting done!

As my labrador barks at a brazen front yard bunny, I have finished the Koigu baby kimono!
I may add some embellishment stitches along the change in color lines.
This would be a great day to be born, beloved infant McTodd.
In an hour, I'm off to have backyard fire s'mores with my friends. Wine and s'mores, a lovely way to end a weekend!

Voyager's Progress

Main themes of my day are:
waiting for my first grandbaby McTodd,
dressing my brown recluse spider bite
learning to block a knitted Koigu baby kimono
sharing rest and joy with my animal rescue yellow lab, Lily
looking forward

More to come!
